How to dress fashionably for workplace

In spite of the strict dress code at the workplace, the up and coming professionals in the office sectors are trying to find that middle ground between the best formal attire and the best fashion trend at the present. Now, it is all about pushing the envelope. In this regard, many of the men’s fashion apparel brands have found the correct equation of clothing and accessories:

  • Dominate the first day of the week, beat the monotonous hues of the Monday drudgery with a white or off –shirt with dark pinstripes. Pair it with a trouser of a light-cream shade. Roll up the sleeves and with the cuff buttons in place, for that final workplace peak hours when you take your work head on.

  • Try accentuating your balance between the workplace and dedication towards fashion with a bright coloured tie. With a matching (or not if you can pull that off) tie in place, you are free to experiment with the colour of the trouser furthermore.

  • Suits can be worn throughout the middle of the week, more so since this is when the business meetings are held. Don’t forget to track that iconic business suit in your wardrobe that you usually save for very special occasions. Coupled with either a classic black formal shoe or brown moccasins, a suit can never go wrong. Prepare to get brownie points at that meeting with the presentation you have, you have earned it.

  • The good old Fridays, and occasional half-Saturday too for some, can be rounded off with a casual half sleeve formal shirt teamed with any bright shade trouser you have. If it is a weekend and a pay check day, you can throw on that Polo t-shirt that fits you so well, for that party afterwards.

  • Sport coats are usually saved for those office parties that do not come so often and bring a mad dash for fashion that stands out and both spells classy. Save that sport coat for these special occasions and make sure when you purchase it months before the party, your fashion sixth sense predicts what should be in style then.

wollen-socks

  • Woolen socks for men can be a fun way to jazz up the finishing touch to the entire office fashion profile. Bright colours are usually meant for the start of the week. For the suit days and others, feel free to mention with black or shades of brown, respectively.

It is not just about wearing formal attire for the sake of it, but letting it make a statement for you too. Your office attire reflects much of your attitude, and the lack of a good sense of office fashion shows the fickleness of it. Feel free to accessorize your look with a suitable frame of spectacles (if you have them of course). Keep your options open with watches if you do have the knack for them, mixing and matching classic steel, dark grey or plain blacks can work wonders. That should completely round off the office look.

Shimla: Ambushed By the Indian Snow

Shimla trumps every other option on your hand as the to-go Hill Station for vacations, regardless of how many times you have been there already. It goes without saying that the very phrase hill-station brings to mind the sight of tourists huddled in the town square in warm woollen garments and sipping a hot drink. But what qualifies as the proper garb to don when you visit Shimla. Being the “Numero Uno” hill-station also means that Shimla is colder than its counterparts and not even your best thermal wear combo can always save you from a cold.

The foremost criteria for packing clothes when travelling to Shimla is to keep track of how many days one is supposed to spend there. Depending on the purpose of the trip, one can choose to be picky with the clothes they pick. For those looking to try their hand a little at mountaineering or even extensive sight-seeing, strong heavy boots are a must have. Also gloves, and mufflers and scarves and socks should be the last but never the least on your inventory. The last thing you want on a vacation is a sore throat and more.

thermal-men

Having a terminally cold weather grants that summers in Shimla can never get to be too intimidating. Light clothes for the day and decently warm woollen wear just in case for the nights is a good enough pre-emptive measure for those travelling to Shimla during the summer months. For those willing to brave the trouble of heavy snow and extreme cold conditions as low as -4 degree Celsius during winter, a complete set of heavy woollen wear is a must have. Depending on which month of winter you are travelling to Shimla in, it can also spell more warm clothes for you too. And if you plan to catch the winter festivals held in the hill station in these months, occasion should dictate that you prepare for that too. Travelling to Shimla during the monsoon is rare because of the haywire precipitation conditions that make the road to Shimla and its surrounding tourist destinations a threat to life. However, should one find themselves in the little hill-station, it would behove them to pack some gum boots, a raincoat and an umbrella and woollen wear for the chill that should set soon after the rain stops. However, in any case you do find yourself poorly armed to fight the cold then do not panic. Shimla has plenty of popular women and men’s thermal wear emporiums that should set you up with the right gear to battle the oncoming blizzard, should one be there. Or you could even opt for online winter wear shopping!

In a hill-station where everyone from the locals to the visitors are chilled to the bone at the slightest exposure of skin, feel free to dress as you wish as long as you are protected from the cold. There is no particular dress code or as such for Shimla. Therefore, it is only a matter of how many layers of woollen clothing that are separating you from the snow.

A close encounter with nature at Mcleodganj

I am a person who does not like to be limited to one place. I love to explore new places along with family. This year, our family decided to visit an unusual place for the summer vacations. After searching for available options on internet, it was decided that we will visit Mcleodganj.

Mcleodganj is a small town in Dharamshala Himachal Pradesh. It is the official residing place of Tibetan Buddhist leader the great Dalai Lama. After we decided to visit this town, I did all the arrangements and booking such as accommodations and transport.

On the day of the journey, we took a bus from ISBT Kashmiri gate to Dharamshala at 12 in the morning. The journey was very hectic as the condition of the roads was not very good but as soon as we approached the hilly areas and got to have view of snow capped mountains, all of our tiredness was gone. Everyone was excited, especially the kids.

The bus dropped us to Dharamshala at 10.00 in the night. From there we hired a taxi that took us to our hotel in Mcleodganj. I must tell you that it was looking great at night with all those tiny lights on. When we reached our hotel, we were given a very warm welcome. I must say the hospitality given by the hotel staff was unforgettable. We just had our dinner and hit the bed early as tomorrow we had to see a lot in this town.

Next day in the morning, we just took little time to freshen ourselves up and moved ourselves out of the hotel. The first spot we had to visit was the Tsuglagkhang temple, which is the office of Dalai Lama. I must say it was a great experience and it was a good chance to teach the kids about some good things like teachings of Buddha and the Tibetan culture. People from all over the world come here for getting knowledge about Mahayana tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.

From there, we headed towards the Bhagsu nag waterfall. It was really cold outside and thanks to the online stores that we were able to purchase some good kids jacket online in India, otherwise it was impossible for children to enjoy this in such a cold climate. The sound of water falling from the water fall could be heard from very long distance and when we reached the waterfall, it was an outstanding view. We decided not go very close to the fall as kids were with us and it was pretty dangerous for them.

Apart from that, the natural scenery and the snow covered mountains of the Dhauladhar range made us realise what a great artist nature is. After a long and tired day, we returned to our hotel for some rest and dinner. It was great experience to explore nature from so close. It was a good way to recharge our body and energy levels.

Travelling hacks

A large part of our time every day is spent stuck in traffic. Therefore, when the thought of travelling, more so away from the hustle and bustle of the city, comes, it is only a matter of time before a quick getaway is on the cards. The best part about travelling is the chance to soak in the culture of a different place. Maybe, your travel is short, maybe it takes longer than expected to finish it, but there can be no dearth of experiences to have for a lifetime, while travelling.

They say, one travels more usefully, when alone, because he reflects more. The thought of travel brings along the chance to re-learn how daily life is tackled at a different place in the world, how the people there take life, what do they wear, what do they eat, it all becomes a crucial part of the travelling experience. The lifestyles of where we travel to give us a chance to compare notes on lifestyles we have led so far. Travelling requires the following to be kept in mind:

  • Where- The ‘where’ of travelling is the most brainstorming that you have to probably do in the entire series of decision-making before you travel, and back again. Selecting where you travel to not only requires planning, but also requires you to understand which destination would be suitable for the trip, and which one would be a good place to visit, and so on and so forth.
  • How- The ‘how’ of travel is really a matter of personal taste and convenience. Depending on the geography, most people who try to take back home as much as possible from their travelling experience, avail a train or a car and drive their way across the country. Apart from on some occasions, fending for oneself in an alien place, adapting to the life on the road, getting habituated to it, is a lesson in itself.
  • Adaptation- Travelling requires one to adjust to any hitherto unknown number of different living conditions. This requires one to hone several new skills that one usually may not have even tried their hand at or thought of before. This becomes one of the most educative parts of the travelling experience and makes for making life a lot easier to grasp once you are back in the daily grind.
  • Clothing- Planning ahead for the travel requires one to make an inventory of what might be necessary to wear. This has become easier these days with it becoming easier to purchase thermal-wear and woolen gloves online.
  • Experiences- New experiences are the very essential foundations on which the concept of travelling is built. Everything that one experiences on a travel becomes a new chapter of their life that they can relate later on.

Travel can be your one and only way to beat the drudgery of city life, so one can often travel to get away and disconnect from the wear and tear of life in a metro easily. Travelling is one of the ideal recreation activities, which help you cut the cord with your regular routine life.
